Martello Building Consultancy were appointed by Folkestone Town Council to act as Contract Administrator and Quantity Surveyor for the refurbishment of 8 play parks across Folkestone and Cheriton. The works were carried out at Naseby Avenue, Coniston Road, Southern Way, Downs Road, Firs Lane, George Gurr, Pine Way and Roman Way.

The play parks were adopted by Folkestone Town Council in 2021 and had fallen into disrepair over the years, due to lack of funding and maintenance, leading to the parks having sparce play equipment. These parks were refurbished as part of Folkestone Town Council’s commitment to investing in the health and wellbeing of the residents of Folkestone.

Safeplay were appointed to provide the installations to the eight parks. The works across the parks included the removal of the existing equipment and installation of play equipment such as mound slides, seesaws, swings, toddler multi play units, roundabouts, spring rockers, sensory totems and an inclusive swing seat. The works also comprised of a MUGA pitch, picnic tables, litter bins, dog bins, bird nesting boxes and bug hotels being installed. This project will provide Folkestone residents and in particular the children, with much needed recreational space within the local community.
