Martello were commissioned as Employer’s Agent and CDM Principal Designer for this joint venture project for Orbit Homes and Bexley Community Housing Association</strong>. We were involved in the project right from the outset, assisting in the search and selection for the appropriate site for development from a variety of potential under-utilised car park/garage options.
The scheme is a new build construction of 12 flats (6 x 2 bedroom, 5 x 1 bedroom and 1 x 1 bedroom with wheelchair access) at the selected site in Whitehall Lane, Bexley. The building construction is a modern three storey, flat roof, timber frame with brick and feature cladding. In addition there are photovoltaic panels on the roof providing power for the communal areas of the block and in the car park there are charging points available.
This development was delivered on time and to budget and has provided much needed, good quality housing to local people. It is an excellent example of making the best use of land that was not being used in the way it was originally designer for.
