We have a fabulous new project that we have been working on for the Riverside Vineyard Church. Currently in the design process, it’s the third phase of a significant redevelopment programme of the old P&B metal works building in Whitstable. Martello also worked with building company Jenner Contractor’s Ltd on the first two phases of the redevelopment project, to create the Community Hub which was opened in May 2016.
For phase 3, we were appointed to undertake a full Architectural Package for the client as well as providing Contract Administration, Quantity Surveying Services, Structural
Engineering and operating in the CDM Principal Designer role. This phase of the project is exciting, as it will bring together the earlier phases to create the ‘Community Hub’ that the
Riverside Vineyard Church has been working towards.
The work will include the provision of a sports hall, youth room and compassion centre, function room with bar and commercial kitchen, as well as providing a mezzanine floor
area. Incorporated into the work are fabric improvements to the building, including associated works to the existing roof and side elevation of the building.
It’s an exciting project for the Martello team for a number of reasons – it will be great to work alongside some of the original employee team and contractors that successfully
delivered the first two phases of the programme on a project that will add so much value to the local community in Whitstable. But also, we have very close connections and a long history in Whitstable. Our Managing Director grew up and went to school in Whitstable and although we are based in Folkestone, we have maintained a presence in Whitstable and delivered other local
projects for George Wilson Developments and the Whitstable Medical Practice in recent years.
We look forward to bringing you more information as the project progresses.
